list of frequently asked questions

  • q:I am really nervous about learning to drive, how can you help me?

a: It's completely normal to feel nervous or scared when you first start driving. Our experienced instructor is trained to help you overcome your fears and build your confidence on the road. We create a safe and comfortable learning environment that will help you relax and focus on learning the skills you need to become a safe and confident driver.

  • q:How many lessons do I need to take to pass my driving test?

a: The number of lessons needed to pass your driving test can vary depending on your level of experience and comfort behind the wheel. Learners under 25 years of age need to record at least 120 hours of driving experience with a supervisor before they can take the test. However, we recommend taking at least 5 to 10 lessons with a qualified driving instructor to increase your chances of passing the test on the first try.

  • q:How often should I take lessons?

a: The frequency of lessons depends on your individual needs and goals. We recommend that learners under 25 years of age take at least one lesson a week, or more if possible, in order to build up their skills and experience behind the wheel. Learners over 25 may choose to take lessons less frequently, depending on their level of experience and comfort behind the wheel. We can work with you to create a personalized lesson plan that meets your needs and fits your schedule.

  • q:Do I need to pass the theory test before I can start lessons?

a: Yes, The Driver Knowledge Test (DKT) is the first stage in the licensing process. You must pass the DKT to get your learner driver licence and to start driving with instructor.

  • q:Do you offer automatic and manual driving lessons?

a: Our lovely Hyundai i30 is automatic. At the moment we do not offer classes with a manual car.

  • q:What should I expect during my first driving lesson with Le Sands Prompt Driving?

a: During your first driving lesson, you can expect to meet your instructor, discuss your goals and experience behind the wheel, and get comfortable with the vehicle you will be driving. Your instructor will then guide you through basic vehicle controls and begin working with you on developing your driving skills. You will also learn about safety rules and practices to help you become a responsible driver. By the end of your first lesson, you should feel more confident behind the wheel and ready to continue your driving education.

  • q:How do I pay for my driving lessons?

a: We accept payment for driving lessons in cash or by bank transfer. You can pay for each lesson individually or purchase a package of lessons at a discounted rate.

  • q:What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule a lesson?

a: We understand that sometimes you may need to cancel or reschedule a lesson due to unforeseen circumstances. We ask that you give us at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson. If you cancel or reschedule within 24 hours of the scheduled lesson, you may be charged a cancellation fee.
